Van Persie and Rooney both scored against Hull at the weekend and Falcao had an effort saved off the line. All three are lethal strikers within their own right but in the same team they do have the potential to be devastating.
It’s that potential which Carrick feels strikes fear into opponents and always keeps United in with a chance of scoring.
“When you have Robin and Wayne scoring and Falcao coming off the bench, we’ll be a threat to anyone,” he said.
“You want those boys flying – and they’re scary to play against.
“When you have those lads scoring goals and creating chances it gives the whole team huge confidence and belief that, even if we’re not playing great, we’re always in the game.
“What Robin and Wayne did against Hull on Saturday we’ve seen so often in the past and hopefully we’ll see again in the coming weeks.”
So far this season, United have rarely been able to play all together thanks to injuries but going into the busy festive period, it might be the first time United can really show their real fire-power.
Rooney is in a fantastic run of form, Van Persie is back to goalscoring ways and Falcao is closing in on a return to full fitness. Defences beware.
United were potent in attack earlier this season but if all three strikers can hit top form together, then there won’t be any defence that can stop them.
