Chris Smalling has been named in Eurosport’s European Team of the Week after his performance against Hull City.
The 25-year-old scored a goal and was instrumental in defence for Manchester United with 102 touches and six clearances.
In the previous game week against Arsenal, Smalling was also quite assured and confident. So, credit where credit is due, Smalling has done well in the fall-out of his derby day red card.
That being said, football fans rarely forget so Smalling still has some way to repair the damage he did with his red at the Etihad but he is certainly doing all the right things at the moment.
United will need Smalling to be in good form Stoke’s visit this evening because their added height will pose such a danger from set pieces.
