Louis van Gaal has confirmed Angel di Maria will play no part in Manchester United’s game against Stoke City tonight at Old Trafford.
Di Maria was expected to miss the game through a hamstring injury but at this stage it is still not known how long the Argentinian will be ruled out for.
“I hope Di Maria won’t be out for too long,” Van Gaal said.
There has been no official confirmation from the club as to the severity of Di Maria’s injury but his wife told a fan via Instagram today that he has suffered a minor tear.
If that proved to be the case, Di Maria would be sidelined for a few weeks and more than likely would be unavailable for United’s games against Southampton and Liverpool at the very least.
In the mean time, Di Maria has been keeping himself busy by replying to some of the fan mail which he has been sent.
