Manchester United striker James Wilson made his first start of the season against Stoke City and his first since his debut against Hull City back in May.
Wilson didn’t have quite the game he did back then but the end result was the same with United walking away with all three points.
In a tough first half against a physical side, the youngster struggled to impose himself on the match along with strike partner Robin van Persie.
But as the match opened up towards the latter part of the 90, Wilson went on a superb solo run and was unlucky to see his shot role just wide. Another mazy run soon after saw him hacked down by Stephen Ireland before he was subbed for Radamel Falcao.
United fans were wary of the tough opponents Wilson was up against but his overall contribution seemed to please them.
Wilson's pace is astonishing.

James Wilson is a joy to watch when he's in full flight like that.

Don't use Wilson as a scapegoat here please. 19 year old lad playing against 11 bruisers. Not getting any service.

Wilson's been bullied out of this so far. Tough gig against this lot.

Yeah Wilson has a bright future ahead of him

With the extent of Wayne Rooney‘s injury yet to be revealed and Radamel Falcao still not ready to start, Wilson could find himself in the team once again on Monday night against Southampton if his strike partners don’t recover.
Given Louis van Gaal‘s current faith in youth, Wilson should definitely expect to play some part in the next few weeks even if the three experienced men in front of him all hit peak fitness at the same time.
