David De Gea 9 He’s had nothing to do for three home matches but pulled off two incredible saves to save United. It was Everton all over again.
Antonio Valencia 6 Another solid if unspectacular performance from the makeshift right-back, got forward more today but will hope to return to a more natural position soon.
Chris Smalling 8 Smalling put in another excellent performance, made some strong tackles and looked composed again as he did against Hull. Much needed run of form for the centre-back.
Marcos Rojo 7 Another strong performance from the ever-improving Rojo. One superb tackle in the first half saved United but the jury is out on whether he claimed his first United goal.
Ashley Young 7 Industrious at left-back once again, Young was lively and looked full of confidence, crucial goal line clearance was crucial at the death.
Marouane Fellaini 6 Scored his first Old Trafford goal and was commanding in the first half but looked tired later on. Sloppy in possession but another solid performance.
Michael Carrick 7 As against Hull, rinse and repeat performance from tonight’s captain. Passing was neat and tidy as usual and he’ll be unlucky to be dropped any time soon.
Juan Mata 7 Mata seems to be having a spell of good games without being great. His link-up with Herrera was again evident and if Rojo isn’t getting his first goal for the club, Mata will claim the winner.
Ander Herrera 6 Herrera didn’t manage to keep his form going from Saturday. His passing was off and he appeared sloppy at times. Improved in the second half but everyone inside Old Trafford knows he can do better. Missed a sitter to add insult to injury.
Robin van Persie 6 No goal to show for it but a better performance from van Persie. Worked his socks off and may have had a goal had Wilson passed to him when he had an empty net to score into.
James Wilson 6 Was hardly involved in the first half but his pace was important later on. One great run almost saw him score a great goal before being hooked for Falcao.
With United defending, ‘El Tigre’ had little chance to do much but ran the lines well towards the end and calmed things down when in possession. Gradually coming back to fitness.
Darren Fletcher N/A Once again, only managed five minutes on the pitch in order to shore up the defence.
Adnan Januzaj N/A Last second sub, didn’t even touch the ball.
