Manchester United fans have taken very well to Louis van Gaal since he took as manager in the summer.
The Dutchman’s press conferences are a highlight of the week and everything he says is delivered with an authoritative tone that makes you sit up and listen. He commands respect.
Yet, Van Gaal is very relaxed and approachable for fans. Take last night for example; Van Gaal was still outside Old Trafford signing autographs for fans and taking pictures with them at 23:45, over two hours after the final whistle had blown.

Sure, players and the staff are probably encouraged to engage with fans but it’s still great to see.
Van Gaal is such a character. Fans find themselves hanging on every word he says and like Sir Alex did so well during his tenure, Van Gaal controls the media – he tells them what he wants to say, he doesn’t give away anything he doesn’t want to.
It was a rocky start for Van Gaal at United and although four wins in a row is great form, he’s still suffering from the effects of an injury depleted which makes United’s current fourth positon even more impressive.
