Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is ready for the test Southampton will give him and his team mates on Monday night after training with the squad on Friday afternoon.
Herrera had been missing from action with a rib injury picked up in September but returned to full fitness this month against Hull City last week.
The Spaniard put in an influential performance and retained his spot against Stoke City where he really should have scored the opening goal of the night.
The 25-year-old took to Instagram on Friday to show him in the middle of a session alongside with Radamel Falcao and Juan Mata as the team prepare for the busy Christmas period which will be a new experience to both Herrera and Falcao.
“Training today, big match on Monday”
Herrera is a welcome return to the squad given his form at the start of the season, adding goals from a midfield that was devoid of them throughout last season and United lacked a cutting edge through the middle in the Spaniard’s absence.
With Angel Di Maria still missing with a hamstring injury, Herrera will almost certainly keep his place in the team on Monday night and supporters will hope he plays a big part in what would be a huge three points for United.
