Jesse Lingard trained with Manchester United today for the first time publicly since suffering an injury on the opening day of the season against Swansea.
The 21-year-old was spotted at Old Trafford for United’s 2-1 win over Stoke in midweek and now he is training once again with the first-team, he should be closing in on a return to action.
It was a cruel blow for Lingard to suffer his injury right at the start of the campaign given his promising pre-season and United fans will be delighted to see he is working his way back to full fitness.
Lingard is hiding behind James Wilson.
Lingard is a player who was on the fringes of the first-team before Louis van Gaal came in as manager and the Dutchman gave him an opportunity right at the start of the season which he would have no doubt capitalised on but injury took that away from him.
All Lingard can do now is work on earning himself another opportunity and given how many youngsters Van Gaal has placed faith in, Lingard is sure to get another.
