Martin Odegaard has been training at Liverpool this week ahead of making a decision about his future but The Telegraph reports that the 15-year-old midfielder has also had a similar visit to Manchester United.
Odegaard is already a record breaker having become the youngest ever footballer to play for Norway’s senior national side and he turns 16 in less than two weeks which is when he is expected to make a decision about where his immediate future lies.
Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have all been linked with a move for Odegaard and he is certainly one of the hottest prospects in European football.
United have a solid history with Norwegian players through the likes of Ronnie Johnson, Henning Berg, Mats Moller Daehli and most famously Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, so there is plenty of history in that respect.
However, Odegaard and his father are both Liverpool fans so he may have already made up his mind on where he wants to move. That being said, few clubs can compete with United’s rich history of producing great talent and a recent study showed it had been responsible for more players in top flight European football than any other single club, which is a testament to how good it is.
United have done their part in inviting Odegaard around Carrington and Old Trafford but the decision ultimately lies with him and an announcement is expected within a few weeks.
