Louis van Gaal has confirmed Radamel Falcao is in contention to return this weekend for Manchester United against Liverpool.
The Colombian striker was an unused substitute on Monday away to Southampton and was used as a substitute in the previous two games, so the real question from fans is whether Falcao is fit enough to be considered as a starter against Liverpool.
“He could make a return this weekend,” Van Gaal told reporters when asked about Falcao this afternoon.
Van Gaal is being decidedly vague with Falcao so as to not put any pressure on him but having taken full part in training this week, Falcao looks ready. Videos released by MUTV showed Falcao taking part, looking sharp and ready.
This season hasn’t got started yet for Falcao thanks to a slow settling in period and injuries but having been able to spend four to five weeks solid working hard in training, now could be the time where Falcao makes a return to the starting XI.
