Louis van Gaal has been named Dutch coach of the year in Holland.
The Man United boss enjoyed a fantastic summer at the World Cup by taking third place with a Netherlands side very few expected to even get out of the group stage.
Since then, Van Gaal has gone on to have a profound impact at Man United in a relatively short space of time which is a testament to his ability as a coach.
The only thing which was more impressive than winning the award was Van Gaal’s bright orange bow tie.
Robin van Persie also picked up an award on the night as his headed goal against Spain was voted sports moment of the year.
As well as Van Persie and Van Gaal, Daley Blind was among the awards having been chosen as the Dutch athlete of the year in what was a well represented event for United’s trophy winners.
