Midfielder Michael Carrick believes Manchester United supporters are about to see the best of Radamel Falcao after he scored his first goal in two months on Saturday.
Falcao headed home the equaliser against Aston Villa to salvage a point on his first start since scoring the winner against Everton back in October.
There was much excitement among the Old Trafford support when the 28-year-old made a shock deadline day move to the club after being linked with both Real Madrid and Manchester City just days previously.
But now Falcao is back fit and in the goals, Carrick believes the striker is about to his ability to the Premier League.
“He’s scored so many goals over the years and you always feel that when he gets that chance he will score,” Carrick told MUTV.
“He’s scored a terrific header again today and I’m pleased for him.
“After being out for a bit that’s him back and hopefully he can go on a bit of a streak for us and we, as a team, can return to winning ways and get on a roll again.
“Things are going okay, although we hoped for more [at Villa], but we didn’t lose and hopefully we can carry that on over Christmas and be stronger for it when we come out on the other side in January.”
Falcao’s performance almost makes it certain that the Colombian will start against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.
