Chicharito brings home Club World Cup trophy

by Richard Laverty

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez is celebrating more success at his current club after winning the Club World Cup with Real Madrid.

The Spanish side overcame Cruz Azul and San Lorenzo in Morocco to bring home the trophy United themselves won back in 2008.

Hernandez won several trophies during his five years at Old Trafford but gradually fell out of favour and form at Old Trafford, leading to Louis van Gaal allowing him to leave for Madrid on loan.

As expected, Chicharito has had to make do with a small role from the bench given the options the Spanish giants up front but scored two goals on his debut for the goal against Deportivo back in September.

Despite not playing a single minute during the two-game tournament, Hernandez was seen posing with the trophy in images posted to his Twitter account on Saturday.

There have been rumours of Hernandez leaving Madrid in January due to a lack of game time but it would also appear the Mexican doesn’t have much of a future at Old Trafford.
