Manchester United’s academy signs up some of the most talented young footballers in the world and Canadian midfielder Josh Doughty is now closing in on his debut for the club.
The 17-year-old was at Carrington yesterday watching the U18s in action and is now waiting on being granted international clearance so he can make his debut in January.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah faced similar delays when he joined United from Ajax this summer but he has since gone on to enjoy a fine start to his career at United and Doughty will be hoping for much of the same.

When Doughty is given the green light to play for United, he will come into an U18s side which is enjoying a good run of form and Paul McGuinness’ recent award as Pro Game Professional Phase Coach of the Year is a testament to the excellent work which United’s academy does with youngsters.
