Reports that Tom Cleverley will join Aston Villa on a permanent deal have emerged in the press this week.
With that in mind, we asked our followers on Twitter whether or not they believe Cleverley deserves another opportunity at Manchester United or whether Louis van Gaal is right to let him leave in January.
The response was, to say the least, unanimous. Sorry Cleverley, United fans are ready for you to move on elsewhere:
@PeoplesPerson_ another chance?? Joke??

@peoplesperson_ Let him fade to anonymity. We need not average players in that squad!!!

Although, one rogue voice stood out from the masses…
@PeoplesPerson_ he may already be a year or two too old, too developed as a player. But LvG may yet get something out of him…

@PeoplesPerson_ Move Anderson out, and maybe Cleverley in. Couldn't hurt

I agree with the fan majority on this one – it is the right time for Cleverley to move on and take his career elsewhere. Van Gaal has already made big statements by sending the likes of Nani and Cleverley on loan because he doesn’t want deadwood players in his squad, so he has no place at Old Trafford any more.
