Man Utd vs Newcastle: Potential 4-4-2 – Falcao, RVP, Rooney and Di Maria start

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United’s draw against Aston Villa at the weekend was a disappointing result given that the home side had ten men for nearly 30 minutes but in the context of United’s recent performances, fans have very little reason to feel much frustration.

Six wins out of the last seven consecutive games means United will be in third place at Christmas which is a fantastic start to Louis van Gaal‘s reign at Old Trafford.

Up next is a home game against Newcastle on Boxing Day which is far from a straightforward game but the good thing for United is that the starting XI has the potential to be phenomenal.

Radamel Falcao was back in business against Villa and is certainly in line to make his second consecutive start while Angel di Maria also played 30 minutes, which puts him in contention to start on Friday.

Elsewhere in this line-up, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney complete a phenomenal attacking team while Phil Jones and Jonny Evans start again at centre-back.
