Louis van Gaal has declined to comment on any potential interest from Manchester United with Gareth Bale.
The Real Madrid winger has been somewhat surprisingly linked with a move to Man United in the summer despite enjoying some great success out in Spain since he moved there.
Guilleme Balague has dismissed the rumours while Spanish newspaper AS claims Van Gaal has enquired about Bale, so there are plenty of contrasting reports with regards to any United interest in Bale.
When questioned by reporters today, Van Gaal insisted the only person he would discuss that sort of move with was Ed Woodward, giving the press very little information.
“I cannot discuss that with you, I will discuss that with my CEO and not with anyone of the media,” he said.
Van Gaal kept his cards close to his chest during the whole summer. The press knew nothing of moves for Ander Herrera and Radamel Falcao until less than 24 hours before they were signed, so negotiations were kept very discreet.
With that in mind, it’s going to be very hard for the press to get much information on any potential target but the Bale rumours are certainly starting to gather pace.
