David de Gea has praised the defenders that have come in from the youth and reserve sides this season.
Speaking to MUTV, de Gea had only good things to say about the likes of Patrick McNair and Tyler Blackett despite the goalkeeper being worked extra hard this season.
The 24-year-old is now recognised as one of the best in the world after a string of incredible individual performances this season and his continuing improvement is remarkable.
De Gea also spoke about enjoying his time at the club but first he reserved his praise for the defence.
“The defenders that have come in have done well. Most of them are young and play with no fear.”
Blackett started the opening five league games of United’s season whilst McNair was drafted in from the youth side when the injury crisis hit its worst spell during October and November.
United supporters will dislike hearing one of their prized assets continually linked with a move to Real Madrid but de Gea is an Atletico man and states he is still enjoying life at the club.
“I enjoy my time here currently as much as I did on day one,” said de Gea.
