Angel di Maria has been named in the 2014 team of the year by L’Equipe in France.
The Argentinian winger has been placed in a midfield three alongside Xabi Alonso and Toni Kroos behind a front three of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
Having won the Champions League with Real Madrid as well as a runners-up medal at the World Cup with Argentina, Di Maria secured a £59.7m move to Manchester United.
He immediately had a huge impact at Old Trafford with goals and assists in his early appearances but he has since had to struggle with injuries.
Di Maria is currently sidelined with a pelvic injury he suffered in training this week.
Although United are in a good run of form having gone eight games undefeated but Louis van Gaal will be itching to have Di Maria back in action as soon as possible.
