Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has warned Manchester United that Gareth Bale is not for sale, no matter what the price.
The club wanted to bring Bale to Old Traffod before he left Spurs and would have provided the perfect marquee signing when David Moyes joined the club but despite a large bid going in, Bale moved to Madrid.
Despite rumours Madrid might sell for the right price, Perez has come and totally denied any rumours linking Bale with a move away from the club and Bale has downplayed rumours himself.
“We have not received an offer from Manchester or any other club for Gareth Bale. We would never listen to any offer for Bale, no matter what the fee,” said Perez.
Whilst Perez’s words will be a disappointment to United fans, other journalists believe Madrid selling Bale would make sense if they want to pursue a deal for Marco Reus, a similar situation to the club getting rid of Angel Di Maria in order to sign James Rodriguez.
Whatever happens, it’s certain rumours of Bale moving to Old Trafford won’t end with the president’s comments, this one will rumble on and on.
