Ander Herrera returning to training for Manchester United is great news for the squad and fans are delighted to hear he’s closing in on a return to action.
Fans immediately warmed to Herrera because of his infectiously warm attitude off the pitch but it’s his performances on it which have won fans over.
Herrera is able to tackle and defend where necessary but his strengths lie in bringing the ball forward with an incisive, cutting passing range and he’s got goals in his locker too. It makes him one of United’s most complete midfielders.
Louis van Gaal said Herrera currently lacked match rhythm so there is no guarantee he will return against Stoke on New Years Day but we asked followers of The Peoples Person how important they felt Herrera’s return to action was and the consensus was unanimous – very important.
@PeoplesPerson_ Extremely important. His movement, passing and tenacity will be big at Stoke. Hope we go back to 3 men in midfield.

@PeoplesPerson_ very important – very neat and tidy in possession and his passing and movement is top drawer

@PeoplesPerson_ Although, Carrick, Rooney and Mata have done well individually we've struggled to win the midfield battle in recent games

@PeoplesPerson_ He is a good asset to have but I am still trying to figure out how our midfield will line up

@PeoplesPerson_ extremely. Better passing and more fluidity in midfield, and can help create so much in different ways on the break

@PeoplesPerson_ more important cause then rooney can play up front instead of Falcao
