Manchester United fans have an anxious wait after Ashley Young went off against Stoke with what looked like a bad hamstring injury.
The makeshift left wing-back pulled up with nobody around it and immediately held his left hamstring with a grimace on his face. Typically, muscular injuries like that can be very serious.
It’s a cruel blow for Young because he was arguably enjoying his best ever form in a United shirt and had been consistently putting in impressive performances, so the timing of his injury couldn’t be worse for him.
We’ll find out more about the severity of Young’s injury over the next couple of days but it looks like he could he is likely to miss a few games at the very least.
The saving grace for United is that Luke Shaw is now fit again so will come straight into the starting XI in Young’s place.
