Making his first start since November, Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera provided a moment of magic during a dull affair to ensure United’s passage to the 4th round.
With little over an hour gone and United having failed to rest the Yeovil goalkeeper, a loose ball fell to the Spaniard who promptly smashed the ball into the top corner.
The power on the shot and the resulting celebration showed the frustration and relief that had built up for the visitors during the opening hour.
Despite a relatively quiet game up to that point, the strike got Herrera in the good book’s of the even more relieved supporters.
Ok, that was a proper thunderbastard. One more reason to adore Herrera.

Louis van Gaal described Herrera as ‘class’ after the game and the praise will please the midfielder given his lack of action in recent weeks.
His good performance may mean he starts next week against Southampton but the whole team have a week to rest now at the end of a busy Christmas period.
