Pictures: Yeovil 0-2 Man Utd – Herrera shares joy with fans

by Richard Laverty

A piece of individual quality from Ander Herrera calmed Manchester United nerves after what had been a sloppy opening hour against League One Yeovil.

Despite a lack of attacking threat from a team that had scored five goals at home all season, United once again looked devoid of any creativity in the 3-5-2 system once again employed by Louis van Gaal.

But deep into the second half, a loose ball fell for Herrera who lashed a shot into the top corner of the net and showed his relief by celebrating wildly with the travelling support.

The goal didn’t necessarily improve United’s game but a late counter attack left the returning Angel Di Maria to run through and wrap the game up in the final minutes.
