Manchester United have confirmed Ben Pearson has joined Barnsley on a one-month loan deal.
The 20-year-old midfielder has long been considered a great prospect at Man United and he deserves this opportunity to impress on a loan move to the League One side.
Speaking about the deal, Barnsley boss Danny Wilson said he was delighted to have secured a short term deal for Pearson.
“Ben left a lasting impression on us from our friendly in July,” Wilson said.
“He is a very, very good player and will add energy and class to our midfield. I’m delighted Manchester United have allowed us to have Ben on loan.”
Having won the Jimmy Murphy Academy Player of the Year in 2013, Pearson has been an important player for Warren Joyce’s U21s. His no nonsense, committed and battling performances typify his style of play as a genuine box-to-box midfielder and followers of the academy sides will be excited to see how he gets on.
