Man United announce Victor Valdes deal

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United have officially confirmed Victor Valdes has joined the club on an 18-month contract.

The 32-year-old was training at United since October to help him rehabilitate his knee injury and Louis van Gaal has decided to bring him to the club as our new no.2 goalkeeper behind David de Gea.

Valdes becomes the first official signing Man United have made in January.

Valdes will immediately feel right at home in Manchester as he has already played under Van Gaal before and with David de Gea, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera already at the club, he’ll have plenty of Spanish speaking compatriots to settle in with.

It’s a great addition to the squad. So long as Valdes’ knee injury problems are not something which will effect him in the long-term, then his arrival at the club will certainly add some much needed experience into a squad which lacked it.
