Manchester United’s Michael Keane is set to join Premier League side Burnley on a permanent deal.
Reports suggest a deal could be announced today while others go one step further and suggest a deal for Keane to join Burnley has already been agreed.
The 21-year-old has been on loan at Burnley this season and following injuries to their defence, has stepped in to become an important first-team player for a Sean Dyche side which has been surprising plenty of people with their impressive performances of late.
Keane voiced his frustrations earlier this season at missing out on opportunities at Man United under Louis van Gaal amidst a big defensive injury crisis and he can certainly count himself unlucky to have been on loan in that regard. He would have certainly been given a chance ahead of Paddy McNair had he been at United.
As it stands, it sounds like Keane could be on his way out of United and with the opportunity to play regular Premier League football, he could hardly be blamed for that decision.
That being said, it would be a shame to see Keane leave because he has shown some fantastic progress at Burnley and still has every opportunity of making a name for himself at United thanks to current defensive instability.
