Tim Krul could become a future Man United player

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal could bring in his World Cup hero Tim Krul – should David de Gea leave Old Trafford.

Whilst the club brought in Victor Valdes on an 18-month contract last night, it would be feasible to suggest both could leave the club at the same time even if de Gea signs a extended contract.

Despite the fact United remain confident over de Gea remaining at Old Trafford, it’s believed the Newcastle United ‘keeper could be a prime target should they lose their star man.

Krul was in van Gaal’s World Cup and played for all of a matter of seconds during the tournament with van Gaal bringing him on the for the penalty shoot-out against Costa Rica.

The new United manager has been linked with plenty of his Dutch squad but as yet only Daley Blind has arrived from those van Gaal took to Brazil last summer.

United would demand at least £30m from Real Madrid or any potential suitor given de Gea’s status as one of the best in the world and Krul would be a solid replacement if United have accepted they won’t find anyone as good as their current number one.

Krul could join another Dutchman Kevin Strootman at Old Trafford should the AS Roma man become a United player this summer.
