Van Gaal wants to form the best team in the world

Louis van Gaal wants Manchester United to become the best team in the world but will need players who can ‘cooperate’ together in order to succeed.

Van Gaal has previously said he prefers ‘multi-functional’ players and it didn’t stop him adding world-class talent such as Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao in the summer.

But Van Gaal also signed utility players such as Daley Blind and has found a soft spot for other players who can play in several positions such as Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young.

His captain, Wayne Rooney, has also been used in several different positions this season and Van Gaal wants to build a team that is well-drilled.

“My ambition is that I have the best players who can cooperate with each other to form the best team in the world,” said the manager.

Names such as Kevin Strootman and Mats Hummels would certainly go a long way to make Manchester United the world class team Van Gaal wants whilst other names linked such as Fabian Schar would certainly add depth to the already strong squad.

Other new signings like Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Ander Herrera have also all played their part in making United a stronger side again this season.
