Turkish midfielder Irfan Kahveci has revealed it is his dream to play for Manchester United.
The 19-year-old youngster represented Turkey at U21s level and has broken through into Gençlerbirliği’s senior side this season, where he has so far scored three goals and grabbed two assists in 14 league appearances.
Although he is still young and very raw, Kahveci made it clear his ambition was to become part of United’s legacy and make a name for himself.
“I have always been a Gençlerbirliği fan,” Kahveci said.
“But if I move my goal is to move directly to Europe, my dream is to play for Manchester United. It is more the clubs prestige and history that attracts me not just how much I can make.”
Kahveci certainly has lofty ambitions but if you don’t aim for the top you can never reach it, so fair play to him and his desire to add to the club’s prestige and history is certainly a great reason to want a move to Old Trafford.
All he can do now is play well enough on a consistent basis to get the attention of United’s scouts.
