Mendes leaves door open for Falcao to move anywhere

Jorge Mendes has made it clear Radamel Falcao is not certain to join Manchester United on a permanent deal in the summer.

Speaking at the FIFA Ballon d’Or ceremony where his main representative Cristiano Ronaldo won the top prize, Mendes refused to rule out a move away from United and insisted the Colombian should always play at the top level.

“In football you never know,” he said.

“You have to wait. I know that right now he plays for Manchester United, which is one of the top clubs in the world and since we are talking about a great player, he should always play at a top club. Juve? I do not know. Now I can not know, we’ll see…”.

Following Louis van Gaal‘s decision to leave Falcao out of United’s squad to face Southampton at the weekend, reports have begun to emerge which say Falcao fears for his United future.

Ian Ladyman details reports that Falcao has been doing voluntary training sessions to help him back to fitness as fast as possible which has led to a frustrated response at being left out against Southampton. Even without the extra training sessions, given how poor the performance was at the weekend, Falcao would more than likely be frustrated regardless.

Falcao had a quiet first-half of the season and if it doesn’t pick-up then it is highly unlikely United will even entertain the prospect of signing him on a permanent basis but the Colombian is clearly keen to prove himself. What Falcao does in the next few months will more than likely decide whether he is signed.
