Morgan Schneiderlin has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the press this week but has said his future is undecided at this present time.
Southampton’s midfielder has been in imperious form to continue what was an impressive campaign in 2014 for the South coast club and has become an even more important player for them after their summer exodus saw so many first-team stars leave.
Reports linking Man United with a move started back in the summer but nothing materialised and now they have re-emerged.
In response to growing interest, Schneiderlin has insisted he wants to wait until the end of the season to see where Southampton finish in the Premier League.
“That’s up to everyone’s personal choices and the club choice,” he said.
“We are going to see where we are going to finish and what everyone’s going to do but right now I can’t predict anything.”
By the sounds of it, Schneiderlin is waiting to see if Southampton finish in the UEFA Champions League qualifying places before making a decision on his future, which is perfectly understandable.
As it stands, Southampton sit above Man United in the Premier League table and the battle for the top four is certainly going to heat up in the next couple of months ahead of the season run-in. If United want to make a move for Schneiderlin, finishing ahead of them for a Champions League spot looks absolutely necessary.
