William Carvalho would love to secure a move to the Premier League and claims there is already interest from other clubs.
The 22-year-old midfielder was scouted by David Moyes’ staff well over a dozen times last season and although interest has cooled off under Louis van Gaal, Carvalho’s latest claims have reignited the fire.
United scouts were in Portugal at the weekend watching Sporting Lisbon take on SC Braga and back in December, Sporting’s manager hinted Carvalho could move to the Premier League, so there is plenty of reason to suggest he could he heading to England soon.
“My dream is to play in England. I know some clubs are interested but my agent Jorge is looking after it and I am relaxed,” Carvalho said.
“Now my mission is to work in Sporting and they will be in charge of any transfer and my future. That is very important.”
Although Carvalho’s €47m release clause would put United off, there’s always the opportunity to negotiate and the fact super-agent Jorge Mendes represents Carvalho would play to United’s advantage if there was genuine interest.
After a breakthrough campaign last year, Carvalho has been relatively quiet but he is still considered one of the best young midfield prospects in European football.
