Falcao, Van Persie, Rafael and others face uncertain Man Utd futures – report

A host of Manchester United players including Radamel Falcao, Robin van Persie and Rafael da Silva face uncertain futures at the club, reports The Guardian.

The Colombian striker has been in the press all week following Louis van Gaal‘s decision to drop him from the squad for Southampton and has moved to quash reports suggesting he left Old Trafford before the game had ended, reports which were certainly designed to be another sleight on his character.

As well as Falcao facing an uncertain future given that he is only at United on loan, there are others whose deals run out soon.

Rafael is one such player who could leave the club; back in the summer, Andy Mitten said Rafael was told he could leave the club, but he didn’t. This year, he has struggled with fitness and form to the point where he just isn’t reliable enough for United.

As for Evans, Jones and Smalling, they are all certainly under threat of being sold. None have done enough to say they deserve a new contract based on this season and given that is all Van Gaal has to go on, the possibility is there that they could leave.

Van Persie is more than likely to be afforded another deal from Van Gaal so long as he can prove he still has longevity in his career.

All in all, there are certainly a few players who may soon not be United players any more and the summer is going to be another busy time for United.
