Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo is determined to win titles at Old Trafford after joining the club from Sporting Lisbon in the summer.
After an unsteady start to his career at United, Rojo began to grow into a crucial part of Van Gaal’s line-up until injuries took over his season.
Speaking to Inside United, Rojo spoke about expectations at the club and like his team mates, hasn’t given up hope of challenging for the title this season.
“As for expectations from now to the end of the season, well, to try and give my absolute best in every game until the end, and hope that we pick up some good results along the way so we can be in with a shout in the shake-up for the title,” he said.
The defender also spoke about his determination to win the next Manchester derby after suffering defeat in November: “It’s vital we win the next Manchester derby at home in front of our own supporters – I think we are going to win that one,” insists Rojo, who dislocated his shoulder during a chaotic 1-0 defeat in October, from United’s point of view at least.
United haven’t beaten City since 2013 and will to avenge recent Old Trafford defeats when the pair square up again in April.
Rojo could return to the United defence against QPR this weekend and given his form before injury and the fact he is a left-footed centre-back, supporters will hope the Argentinian’s return will signify a return to four at the back.
