Radamel Falcao will be hoping his new boots bring him some goals when Manchester United face Cambridge this Friday.
The Colombian striker was making some great opportunities against QPR at the weekend but top class goalkeeping from Robert Green and some inspired last ditch defending stopped him from scoring what could have been a hat-trick on another day.
After Louis van Gaal publicly said he wanted Falcao to prove himself, it was the sort of industrious performance which would have pleased the United boss, regardless of whether Falcao got on the score sheet.

Even though he didn’t score against QPR, Man United fans were happy to see an improved overall performance from Falcao. For all his injury problems this season, he looked sharp and fit, much more like the Falcao who was considered one of the world’s best strikers prior to his injury problems.
What Falcao simply must do now is turn those sorts of performances into goals. As much as he will be afforded time and patience by United fans who want to see him succeed, there are only four months left of his loan spell and he currently hasn’t done enough to earn a permanent move to United.
