West Ham are interested in signing Manchester United’s Darren Fletcher and are willing to compete with Valencia to sign him for £1.5m, report The Telegraph.
With his contract expiring in the summer, Fletcher is allowed to talk to other clubs about any potential move and could leave as a free agent in the summer if United didn’t offer him a contract extension, something which looks unlikely at this stage given his poor form under Louis van Gaal.
Fletcher might not be good enough to start for Man United every week but his determination to return after a battle with ulcerative colitis shows he still has the necessary drive to cut it as a professional footballer.
What’s next for Fletcher? With more than one club linked there are lots of options for the Scottish midfielder but it is becoming increasingly apparent that his time as a United player is soon going to come to an end.
