Adnan Januzaj got a rare start for Manchester United last night.
The 19-year-old has struggled to get game time under Louis van Gaal but was given an opportunity against Cambridge United.
In the first 45 minutes, Januzaj was one of United’s better players but understandably rusty given how little he has played.
However, in the second half he was vastly improved. In the latter stages after the introduction of Ander Herrera, Januzaj looked dangerous and one stand-out moment for him was when he swerved through two Cambridge defenders with an excellent show of footwork.
It may have been against League Two opposition but that was a real show of confidence from Januzaj to even attempt to dribble through both players.
Januzaj has had a tough season so far with such little first-team action but Van Gaal would have been impressed with his confidence and may now use him more often in upcoming games.
