Radamel Falcao grabbed his fourth goal for Manchester United and second in front of fans at Old Trafford with a goal against Leicester City yesterday.
Putting himself in the perfect position for a rebound from Angel di Maria’s saved shot, the Colombian striker showed how sharp his predatory instincts still are by being first to react and poke home United’s second goal.
Just like he has with all three previous goals, Falcao celebrated like he had just won the lottery and didn’t in the slightest bit hold back. Seeing him so genuinely passionate every time he scores endears himself to United fans and makes it very difficult not to like and believe in him
We’ve said it before but there are very few, if any, loan players who have had such a profound impact on United’s fan base than Falcao. Every time he plays, fans are willing him to do well, hoping he can have a season changing game.
Against Leicester, Falcao looked like his fitness was much improved. Sharp and willing to run, he was a thorn in Leicester’s side and paired it with some excellent hold-up play in order to bring his United team-mates into attacks.
There’s not much to dislike about Falcao but he’ll have to make scoring a regular event if he is to have any chance of earning a permanent contract from Louis van Gaal.
