Manchester United’s James Wilson believes he is learning from the best during his full debut season at Old Trafford.
The 19-year-old has been competing with Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao for places up top in Man United’s side but scored in the club’s 3-0 win over Cambridge United in the FA Cup yesterday.
Wilson insists that he wants to tap into the knowledge of his fellow strikers in order to develop his own game.
Speaking about his illustrious team-mates, Wilson said: “I have learned a lot from all three of them, probably different things from each of them.
“Coming into work and training with them every day is unbelievable for me because I have got a lot to learn in the game.
“This is my first season in the first team so I have just got to train with them as much as I can, keep fit and keep learning. I’ve had a few ‘pinch-me’ moments though.”
The Dutchman sold Danny Welbeck after making Wilson his fourth-choice striker, which goes to show how much faith he has in him.
Whether or not Wilson takes the chance that has been given to him is another question. He has shown promise during his early forays into the first team so Man United fans will be hoping he can push on and make a big impact in the future.
