The various fortunes of Manchester United’s strikeforce has been a source of frustration for the club’s fans this season with Wayne Rooney, Radamel Falcao, Robin van Persie and James Wilson all facing problems.
Rooney has been far less effective in recent games having been played in a central midfield position, Van Persie has been out of sorts, Falcao has struggled with injury and Wilson has been in and out the team.
With Louis van Gaal set on playing two strikers up top, it begs the question – what is United’s best strike duo? We asked fans to give us their thoughts on the situation:
@PeoplesPerson_ LvG sees Rooney as a midfielder. So Falcao & RVP for me. Wilson adds lot of energy coming off the bench in the second half.

@PeoplesPerson_ Yorke and Cole

@PeoplesPerson_ Rooney & Falcao. Have everything to be a good combo. Wilson not quite there yet and RVP starting to fall away now IMO

@PeoplesPerson_ Falcao and RVP. Falcao because of movement and hold up play. RVP because of his finishing. I prefer Rooney as the no10

@PeoplesPerson_ Wilson and Falcao.Given a proper run in the team JW adds more to the team than the ageing RVP.Falcao wil score ifgiven games

@PeoplesPerson_ Rooney and Falcao.. More clinical and influential in a match

@peoplesperson_ Wilson & Rooney. Reason: RvP ageing, lost a yard or two and Falcao not at his best since knee injury.

@PeoplesPerson_ Falcao and Rooney. This must be RVP's last season. Falcao needs games to prove his worth. Wilson to be in and out of team

There are certainly some interesting responses there and it goes to show that United have quiet the predicament not only with the striker, but their entire starting XI.
Each forward has their qualities and their selection depends a lot on the opposition that United face. United fans will hope that they can all contribute to a successful second half of the season.
Who would you start up front for Man United if you were the boss?
