Manchester United have to brush off the dirt from Upton Park and re-gather themselves quickly for Wednesday night’s game against Burnley at Old Trafford.
After the disappointing performance and salvaged draw on Sunday, Louis van Gaal will want his players to bounce back immediately and the fact it is at home is a real bonus given how much stronger Man United have been this season at home in comparison to away.
One major problem for Man United against West Ham was a complete lack of service from midfield. Wayne Rooney wasn’t providing, Daley Blind was busy defending and Angel di Maria ran into too many dead ends.
So, once again, we turn to the logical decision that Ander Herrera solves the problem for Man United. We’re starting to feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day at this stage but will continue to beat the drum until it happens – Herrera needs to start in central midfield for Man United.
Burnley won’t be a pushover and if United set-up with the same personnel that was so disjointed against West Ham, we can expect a similar performance. Louis van Gaal needs to switch it up.
