Barnsley have extended the loan of Ben Pearson from Manchester United following some impressive performances for the Tykes.
Pearson has played five times for Barnsley and was named the sponsors’ Man of the Match on his professional debut for the club.
The youngster also scored his first ever goal during Barnsley’s 2-1 win over Port Vale earlier this month.
Picking up the ball up on the edge of his own box before driving forward at pace, Pearson set off on a 70 yard run before his deflected effort looped over Port Vale’s goalkeeper.
It was a goal which typified Pearson’s tenacious style of play and Barnsley boss Danny Wilson has praised his contribution during his brief time at the club.
The loan spell has given Pearson some much needed game time as he continues his footballing development.
Pearson is quickly establishing himself as an important player for Barnsley and United fans will be delighted to see him doing so well.
The midfielder is widely considered one of the most promising midfield prospects currently in United’s academy and we’ll continue to follow his progress on loan to see how he gets on.
