A £59m price tag looked like a snip for Angel di Maria after the Argentine scored three goals in five games during a blistering start to his career at Old Trafford.
The midfielder terrorised defences while at Real Madrid this season and United fans were very happy to have him in their team.
If you had started watching him since the start of 2015 however you would have seen a player far below his best. Sluggish and predictable, particularly against West Ham on Sunday, Di Maria suffered a major dip in form.
So Manchester United fans were delighted then to see his return to form in United’s 3-1 win against Burnley on Wednesday.
Di Maria looked deadly on the counter and grabbed two assists as United wrapped up an important three points. His performance clearly excited fans.
Love Di Maria, me!

When we switched formation and Di María went out on the wing he played much better. He’s so frightening when he runs at players with pace.

Di Maria looked well decent, today. Absolutely loved his reaction to winning the penalty.

Best I’ve seen Di Maria for a long while. That’s what we want from him, taking on players and drawing fouls. That plus creating chances.

Di Maria was absolutely brilliant today. Was running at defenders throughout the game and must have completed a lot of dribbles.

Di Maria was man of the match for me. Looking more confident. RVP and Falcao getting worse.

United look considerably better with a fit and on form Di Maria in the side so his performance against Burnley will come as a relief to Louis van Gaal.
The 26-year-old will be a vital player for United as they head into the tail end of the season.
