Angel di Maria’s agent Jorge Mendes insists the Manchester United midfielder will be at the club next season.
However Mendes has now said the player is happy in Manchester and rubbished reports he is set to leave.
Speaking about Di Maria’s future, Mendes said: ”He was at [former club] Real Madrid and wanted to go to one of the best teams in the world and is happy, and that’s it.”
Di Maria has suffered from a dip in form since his return from a pelvic injury at the start of 2015 but looked like he was getting back to his old self in United’s 3-1 win against Burnley on Wednesday.
Bright and full of running, United’s record signing was a constant threat to the Burnley defence. He set up Chris Smalling for his second goal before winning the penalty which Robin van Persie converted late on.
United look considerably better when Di Maria is in the team and on form so fans will be hoping these rumours do not develop into something more substantial.
