Manchester United’s Ander Herrera thanks fans after Burnley cameo

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United midielder Ander Herrera has taken to social media to thank fans following his impressive cameo in the 3-1 win over Burnley on Wednesday.

Herrera started on the substitute’s bench for Man United but was brought on after Daley Blind suffered a head injury.

The Spaniard immediately improved United’s play and got them on the ball more as the club sealed an important three points. Taking to social media, Herrera thanked fans for their continued support:

Herrera hasn’t started a Premier League game since the beginning of December and his continued absence from the team is a source of frustration for United fans.

It is especially worrying given the indifferent form of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao up top and Wayne Rooney in midfield.

The 25-year-old’s performance against Burnley was hugely encouraging however and Louis van Gaal praised him following the game.

Herrera will look to push on following the display and will be hoping to start against Preston North End in the FA Cup on Monday night.
