The London club opened the scoring through Dominic Solanke but Pereira equalised with a deflected free kick before setting up Tom Thorpe for a late headed winner.
The 19-year-old was pleased to finally score from a set piece and happy he could play a part in the win.
Speaking about the clash, Pereira said: ”It was a very good game and I’m very happy we could win it in the last minutes. When we scored, the game changed and everyone started to believe again. When I equalised, I got a bit of confidence and we played better and better.
“I hadn’t scored a free-kick for a long while so I’m very happy to get one – I just have to keep practising. I’m very happy with the second goal as well as it was a great header [by Thorpe].”
Pereira has made a real impression on the U21s recently and should be delighted with the overall progress he has made over the last 12 months.
The midfielder has made his senior debut, been included in a few first-team match day squads and has trained with the first-team all season.
The situation may be affecting Pereira’s contract negotiations given he rejected an offer last month. We’ll be keeping you up to date with his progress and how he gets on.
