Andreas Pereira has been in the spotlight in recent weeks at Manchester United.
His future is a hot topic of conversation after the Belgian youngster rejected Man United’s initial contract offer and following a strong performance in the 2-1 win over the U21s in which he scored a free-kick and played an important role in the victory.
Having trained with Man United this week and coming into the game in good form, Pereira is in a strong position to be named in the squad to face Preston on Monday. If the 19-year-old were to come on from the bench, it would be his first appearance in the FA Cup.
Pereira’s other appearance in a domestic cup was in the 4-0 humiliation at the hands of MK Dons, so he’d be very keen to impress if given the opportunity by van Gaal.

With his future still unresolved, it would be a very shrewd move by van Gaal to give Pereira his FA Cup debut with some minutes on the pitch as it could persuade the 19-year-old to sign a new deal with the club.
