Sheffield Wednesday waiting on Will Keane’s injury scan

by Sam Peoples

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Stuart Gray has confirmed Will Keane has suffered a suspected medial ligament injury.

The club are awaiting the results of a scan to find out the full extent of his injury and how long he will be sidelined for.

“Will picked up what looks like a medial ligament injury,” Gray told Sheffield Wednesday’s official website.

“He left the ground in a brace and we’ll see what the scan shows.”

Keane was substituted at half-time yesterday during Sheffield Wednesday’s game and there are fears he may have repeated the same injury which he suffered back in 2012 away on international duty with England.

It will be a cruel blow for Keane if the injury which forced him to miss a whole season has come back to haunt him once again, especially after he had started to look more like himself in front of goal with Man United’s U21s.

Keane will immediately return to Man United if his injury does prove to be serious. We’ll bring you the latest update as soon as there is one.
