Ander Herrera has taken to social media to express his delight after Manchester United’s 3-1 FA Cup fifth round win over Preston North End on Monday night.

Scott Laird put Simon Grayson’s side in front with a deflected effort but Herrera equalised for United when he fired home.

Further goals from Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney sealed the victory and a quarter-final meeting with Arsenal.

Herrera was clearly delighted to be back in the team and scoring goals and is now focused on the upcoming quarter-final against Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Fans have clambered for Herrera to start for United under Louis van Gaal but the experienced Dutch manager has repeatedly left the Spaniard out of his team this season.

Herrera finally got a run out against Preston and he looked assured in possession before taking his goal well. It’s been a tough couple of months for the Spaniard but he has never let his head drop and worked himself an opportunity against Preston which he took.

The midfielder will now be hoping to push on now in order to cement a regular spot in the starting XI.
